About Songbird
Would you like to...
- Develop Songbird, the most kickass desktop application since Firefox?
- Be paid to build an open source + cross-platform media player?
- Work in our warm, bright and airy loft in San Francisco?
Pioneers of the Inevitable is a well-funded software startup comprised of elite Web browser and media player developers who are building the Songbird Web player. Our team's previous hatchlings include Winamp, the AOL Media Player and the Yahoo Music Engine.
Our mission is to foster innovation and choice in digital media and we're hiring a few highly-qualified heads to join us.
What is Songbird?
Songbird is the world's last desktop media player: it is open source, runs on Windows, Mac and Linux and supports user-contributed extensions because it is built on the same Mozilla platform as Firefox.
Songbird is the world's first Web player: Songbird plays music and movies from the Web, shares playlists across the 'net, and automatically synchronizes your music to the online locker of your choice. What would you like Songbird to do?
Go ahead, take a test flight. Download Songbird, check the source code and watch the screencast.
