Ensure the hatching of Songbird is defect free. As a QA engineer for our web media player, collaborate with a highly talented group of in-house developers along with a large community of testers and developers.
The ideal profile:
We are looking for a self-starter will participate in the continued growth of building our test coverage from the ground up and to doing it right. You seek rapid advancement within a growing organization. You have experience creating test cases for both automated test harnesses as well as for manual, end user testing.
You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact directly with the open source community. You need to be detail oriented and passionate about keeping quality standards very high. You have demonstrated interest in test driven development. Though this is primarily a black box, GUI level test position, you have some experience with C++, Javascript and/or XML/XUL code source.
Responsibilities:
- Review new features to create/execute test cases within the QA automated test harnesses and via our test case management system.
- Perform automated as well as manual testing as required.
- Update/execute automated and manual test cases to aid in regression testing.
- Interact and coordinate with in-house developers and community to follow up, provide input and verifications on bug reports.
Qualifications:
- Requires 3-5 years experience testing Web and desktop applications, preferably media oriented.
- Strong understanding of how browsers and Web technology work.
- Experience working on multiple platforms (OS X, Linux, Windows).
- Experience running automated test suites created with Java, PERL, Ruby and/or Python.
- Ability to analyze, verify and write high quality bug reports.
- Experience with MP3/mobile devices a plus.
This position reports to the Application QA Lead.
Availability: Full-time.
