hiding the values of customized properties from the user

Whenever i create a new customized property..it's label and value can be seen by adding the property from the pop up(the one which get's opened by clicking on the last box adjacent to the playlist labels).

i want to hide that property and it's value from the user.

for example i create a customized property albumid

albumId: "http://yourdomain.com/path/to/data/1.0#albumId"

the user can see the label and value of this property by including this property explicitly from the pop up(the one just discussed above).
I don't want the user to see this property and value.

Is it possible? if yes,can anyone please explain the steps?

Please take a look at:

The 4th parameter to createTextProperty (other create*Property methods have a similar parameter) is a hidden boolean to hide the property from the user.

how can i hide the track url from the user?

also can i change the track url at runtime?

Thanks,
Manoj

mig Says:

that's the #contentURL property -- you can change its value like any other property.

i am unable to set this property at runtime..
i tried the following code..it threw an exception

mediaItem.setProperty("http://songbirdnest.com/data/1.0#contentURL","http://manoj.yadav.com/track?trackId=11");

whereas mediaItem.getProperty("http://songbirdnest.com/data/1.0#contentURL"); is working fine.it is giving me the url in the mediaItem which was set at the time of mediaItem creation.

but setProperty to change the url at run time is not working...

Thanks,
Manoj

Ooops, my bad. This is now considered a secure property. Sorry, you can't change it from the remote web api.
