How to import itunes library from windows into songbird in linux

I was wondering if there was a way to import an itunes library that was created in windows, in songbird which is installed in linux (ubuntu).
The problem with this (i assume) is that the file locations are different ... in windows its C:\blah blah, and in ubuntu its /home/blah blah
It would be really appreciated if someone could help me out!
Thanks
Pay

Go to your Documents/Music/iTunes, duplicate the "iTunes Library.xml" (backupping stuff always rocks), open the duplicated file with a plain text editor (if it's huge, i suggest u to install the balzing fast notepad++) and search&change "file://localhost/C:/blah blah" with "file://localhost/home/blah blah". Save. Then open Songbird and import the new modified xml. Enjoy

eldino, thanks for the reply! pay919, let us know how that works out for you.

@jkoshi: it should work fine, i use this method since 4-5 years to transfer music from Mac to PC and viceversa, from internal hds to external ones to NAS and so on. I never lost a rating! iTunes is great mainly for these details :) btw: i suggest u to use a good plain text editor such as Notepad++ if your XML is huge. Windows built-in editors suck and they take ages to perform the task. I have OpenSuse but I never did this task on it, so can't suggest anything else :)

Hey guys, changing the xml worked, but instead of changing the file location to "file://localhost/home/blah blah" it should be changed to "/localhost/home/blah blah"
By the way, thanks for all your help =]

Hey everyone! I've created a little solution for the whole "cross OS, replace paths in xml" problem. It's a little program that does that for you! Check out http://www.minimalcomplex.com/songbird/ for more info.
