Apple Shuffle 1Gb

G'day Folks,

Just signed up today after 2 days of total frustration with itunes software taking over my PC's access to the Internet. Found a link to Songbird and a pretty good rap on Clif Notes saying it was an alternative to itunes and I could manage my ipod with it.

I followed the video/demo and as a media player it's just great! I can also see the tracks I have recorded on my ipod (even though the track names are gibberish) but cannot see how I can delete/overwrite what's recorded. I see there are a couple of posts on this forum about the apple shuffle (gen2 I think), one of which seems to have the same problem as me, and another which appears to be able to download stuff to theirs.

Can anybody tell me what I'm missing, or is this an undocumented feature :)?

ErikStaats Says:

If your iPod is set to auto-sync, you cannot manually delete tracks. If you change the iPod to manual management mode, you should be able to select an iPod track and delete it with the context menu (right click) or the delete key.

Thanks ErikStaats, I'll give it a go. Then I'll see if I can actually record tracks on the Ipod using Songbird.

Cheers.
